Kenneth Miller| What I Am |
I am a professional, as are most freelancers, of any type. And like most freelance professionals, I have made a concious decision to work directly for you, the client, instead of being just an employee for some larger company. Working as a freelancer gives me the capability to work the hours that are necessary for a project, instead of relying on a strict 9-5 schedule. If I am struck with an idea, or happen to notice a bug or misspelling at 10pm, then I can just fix it, I don't have to wait until the next day, potentially forgetting the problem or getting distracted by the boss as soon as I walk in.
I have been working with computers since 1991 and I have been coding professionally since 1999. I spent nine years in the US Air Force as a Software Developer, and have done work for several clients since.
I am able to provide my services at a competitive rate, much cheaper than any large company I've known. I can do this because I am the CEO, CFO, COO, head of marketing, and the employee, all wrapped into one, so there's nobody else to pay and no paperwork/red tape to go through. Hiring a freelance web developer means you get to talk directly to the person who is writing the code for your web site, instead of a sales person or management.

| Why hire a freelancer? |
There are a lot of "Do it yourself", template based services available that allow you to get a web site up and running. And that's great, except that now your site looks like countless other template based web sites out there. Also, if you use one of those services, then you are most likely paying for things you may not need. What you want is a web presence. Something that doesn't look or feel like everyone else's web site. You need something that matches your personality, or the spirit of your company. Why have a web site that blends in with the rest and is easily forgettable, when you can have a site that is custom tailored to you, and your customer's needs.
